Summer heat bringing up the Smallies!

The dog days are upon us, even here in the mountains, and to those who are usually after trout, summer means hot topwater action for smallmouth bass!  The French Broad River is fishing great, as long as the gully washers don't cloud it up, and we've been catching them on poppers and over sized damselfly imitations.  The fish are active all day in different capacities and if you go be sure to take along some clousers and cray fish patterns, and as always a Fishwater Map! We are also going to be offering float trips with our sister company, Fishwater River Guides ( www.fishwaterguides.com )  So if you're coming up to the area give us a call and we'll get you in on the action.  Stop surfing and start fishing!  -CSG
